Projects I completed during Lockdown.
During lockdown I was looking for different projects to keep
myself motivated. I found myself scrolling on various social media pages
thinking that looks good, I should try that, but not actually starting
anything. I think sometimes it is better to just experiment rather than
endlessly scrolling for the perfect project to start.
The first thing I started was my Japan album. Way back in 2018 I had printed photos, kept all my receipts and held on to different bits and bobs, with the intention of creating an album and 2 years later, I finally got round to actually making it!!
It was fantastic to look through
all the pictures again and remember what an exciting holiday it had been.
One of my favourite projects that I did was for my 3 friends
for Christmas. I was inspired by Embroidery by Nat. First of all I sketched out
the image of all of us, then painted it and outlined it with a single line
stitch and finished it by adding beaded detail. Each one took approximately 10
hours to make.

I made another picture for a friend of her cat. I did this
with watercolour rather than acrylic. I thought I would experiment with both to
see which looked better. I am still not sure which one I prefer. I like both
for different reasons.
I also began making masks during lockdown. I started initially
just making them for friends and family but it grew arms and legs and I set up an
Instagram page to show what masks I had available.

Here are a few other projects I tried.
Not hugely keen on this one, but it is always worth trying
new techniques. I might come back to it at a later date and add to it.
I really like how both of
these turned out. It is really simple to do but very time consuming!!
Thanks again for reading my blog.
Please feel free to leave me any questions in the comments
and I will get back to you asap.
My final blog will be about future projects I intend to
make.

ReplyDeleteI appreciate your positive feedback.
DeleteExcellent stuff Sally and find the way you lay out your creations artistic and colourful. Certainly inspirational. Do you find that part comes naturally to you or does it take a lot of planning?Marlyn
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments Marlyn. I would say it is a bit of both, sometimes ideas just come to me and other times I need to play about with layouts and see what works.
DeleteYou’re so talented! Great work
ReplyDeleteThese are all amazing! I'm impressed by how productive you've been in lockdown. So much talent!
